Pyramat PM1900 Cobra Folding Gaming Seat

This folding pyramat gaming seat seems a good idea, the Pyramat I have takes up loads of space. Funnily enough, my pm440 is folded up in the corner of my lounge, and I have a big fat ginger cat which sleeps on it. It is probably now quite flea ridden and covered in ginger hairs!

The foldable Pyramat PM1900 'Cobra' Gaming Chair is the ultimate gaming chair for those who want the amazing quality of the Pyramat Gaming Chair range, but don’t have the space to keep one permanently out in the lounge. But don’t be deceived! The Cobra when unfolded is as large as the Pyramat PM400 or PM420!

With surround sound, thumping bass and all the Pyramat features you would expect, this chair, one of the newest in the range, really is the best for smaller spaces, or if you have someone who just isn’t keen on having one sitting in the sitting room all the time. It’s full sized metal frame makes it exceptionally strong and lightweight, but its size when folded (a mere 23cm thick) makes it perfect for storing under the bed or in the wardrobe.

With all the features on would expect to get from the Pyramat Gaming Chair range, the Cobra has amazing surround sound, boom bass and is extremely comfortable, which is also helped by the breathable backrest and the contoured seat.

The cobra, like the rest of the Pyramat range, is compatible with iPod's, MP3 players, Playstation, X-Box, GameCube, PSP and Nintendo gaming machines, and can also be connected to your DVD, Computer (PC and Mac), TV and stereo systems.

I Have Seen The Future.

Earlier today I had a play on the Korg DS-10, and well bugger me if it isn't the most brilliant thing I have used for at least a week.

You basically use a Nintendo DS as sequencer, with traditional Korg MS-10 style analogue synth, drum machine and Kaoss Pad to really get some great effects. I had heard about this on the beloved MusicThing Blog, which said it was tasty, but this is something else. You can create something pretty decent sounding in about 5 minutes, and the interface is really clean and intuitive (i.e like the real thing). The idea of being able to use this on the bus, or as an improv device is very appealing.

Put it like this, I am going to get a DS purely to use this in my musical incarnation. Until then here is one of those dry, dry, dry demos you find on YouTube

and something a bit more fun with a couple of iPhones and a DS

Let's Get Rocked.

Some people reading this blog may never have played a Mega Drive or SNES, let alone a NES or a Master System. Well I did, and you know what some of those games were fantastic! The graphics were awesome. I mean Bubble Bobble on the Spectrum was good, so when we saw Virtua Fighter down the arcade we all rushed there to marvel at the 3D fighting and lifelike graphics.

Well, recently there has been a resurgence of 'retro gaming' thanks to the Virtual Consoles on things like the Wii. So in the name of blogging, and because I couldn't be arsed to go out the other weekend, I spent some time exploring the functionality on the Wii.

My first stop was ToeJam and Earl. I remember this game coming out on the Megadrive and my friend Michael had it. We spent hours playing this game, and all these years later I had remembered it as being wicked. The graphics being well rounded, the gameplay being fluid and interesting. Well, immediately after downloading I knew something in my brain had gone horribly, horribly wrong. The graphics were muddy, some of the characteristics of ToeJam were totally lost. Then the game itself. Christ! What a load of guff. The game is utterly tedious.

Saying this though Columns (despite also having shit graphics) is still flipping brilliant.

Anyway what I am saying is that nostalgia, and your virtual console cash should be used sparingly (and that Nintendo et al should have a 'demo' of each game for punters to play).

Finally, to cheer your heart, here is a video that I thought was well hi-tech when I first saw it. Now it looks decidedly Hi-Tec. Let's Get The Rock Out of Here!

Do you live in London AND own a Nintendo DS?

If so, then you could be part of a world record DS gaming attempt held this weekend! The event is being filmed by Nintendo themselves, and they are also hoping to raise money for charity. Good on them. I say, 'Get Involved!'. The even is also part of the London Games Festival.

The event starts at 4pm at The Rocket Center, 166—220 Holloway Road, N7 8DB. We aim to get about 400-500 people to beat the current record of 381.

We will also be in support of the Children In Need charity with an on the day voluntary collection. There will also be a Girl gaming tournament during the day and a gamers pub quiz in the evening. We have support from a number of people and organisations including Nintendo who are filming on the day to do a short for the Wii Channel!

Far Cry 2 Pre Order Deals

Hey fellow fluffers,

If like me you're eagerly awaiting the release of Far Cry 2 - then you should check out some of the best pre-order deals that I've compiled below! If you're not eagerly awaiting it.. what the hell are you playing at!? Just look at how incredible this game looks!

HMV are currently offering a very interesting promotion, easily the best in my opinion, where they give you 4 more missions to play in the game - check that out here.

Play.com on the other hand have this totally awesome looking steel book case.

Amazon... have absolutely nothing! However, get this.. they're a whole penny cheaper! GOOSH!!

Console versions are retailing at £39.99, whilst PC versions are going for about £25. I'm still undecided as to what format to go for. I do have an absolutely kick-ass PC but if it turns out that multiplayer and so on is really really good fun on the PS3 network then I'll have to go for that. Also I was seriously impressed with how good the graphics looked on the next-gen consoles.. Anyway review dates can't be too far away now so we'll see!

Far Cry 2 is released on 24th October 2008!
